ADT Workplace has expanded its portfolio in Leeds and Birmingham with the design, build and delivery of two new workplaces for its longstanding client, Knights plc. As the UK’s fastest growing legal and professional services business, Knights recently invested in high quality, contemporary office space in both cities, to support is continuing growth strategy and expansion in key regional markets.

In Leeds, Knights has taken 22,500 sq.ft of space within the iconic Grade II listed Majestic building in the heart of Leeds city centre. Situated in a prime location on the doorstep of the city’s main train station, the landmark Majestic building has been transformed into first class office space over recent years and is now home to a number of high profile organisations including Channel 4.

Located at Two Chamberlain Square, Knights’ new Birmingham location spans 19,000 sq.ft of office space and again, provides the ideal central location for the Group’s expanding operations in the city. With a striking appearance, the eight storey building boasts an enviable position with stunning views of some of the Birmingham’s most iconic listed buildings.

The vision

At both locations, Knights was looking to create flexible, inspiring and modern workspaces, which are also reflective of its corporate and professional values. While it was crucial that the new workspaces were consistent in look and feel with its other UK office locations, Knights also allowed ADT Workplace the creative license to take the existing design forward as well as future proof both spaces to accommodate growth.

Having worked with Knights to create and deliver previous office space in Manchester, ADT Workplace was ideally placed to support on these projects having built a trusted relationship with the team over recent years.

The transformation

The new spaces have been transformed from blank canvases into high quality contemporary and intelligent workplaces designed to meet the needs of the modern business. Utilising the very best in new technology and innovative M&E solutions, ADT Workplace was able to create environments which will not only support business success but also enhance the health and wellbeing of occupants.

High specification materials and finishes, including bespoke joinery, were used throughout both spaces to a deliver first-class corporate and professional environment, balanced with softer touches to create a welcoming and motivating atmosphere for employees.

The designs maximise the open plan floorplates available at both buildings, to provide predominantly flexible workspace with areas for collaboration and informal meetings. Both offices also benefit from a Knights’ signature Client Meeting Suite, a range of meeting rooms of different sizes and functions leading directly from the reception area, and a 1759 Lounge, a high-end breakout area for use by both its colleagues and visitors.
