The household name and confectionary manufacturer Swizzels, recently selected ADT Workplace to create its office space within its newly built production facility in Cheshire. Situated at one of the region’s largest business and distribution parks, Ma6nitude, in Middlewich, the facility spans over 150,000 sq.ft, with the office occupying around 10,000 sq.ft.
With a reputation for inventing fun sweets and innovative brands, Swizzels required a production facility and workplace environment which would allow the team to innovate and collaborate, to create market leading, quality products quickly and efficiently. In particular, the new factory was needed to facilitate the growing demand for Swizzels’ bestseller, Squashies, by enhancing its production and distribution capability, whilst supporting its existing locations within the UK.

ADT Workplace developed the client designs to construction stage to align with Swizzels’ expectations, and delivered the CAT A enhancements to the office space and production facility and warehouse, and the CAT B office refurbishment.
Visitors are welcomed into the office space through a reception area with Swizzels’ famous branding adorned onto a neon light, decorative ceiling panels and comfortable seating, creating an inviting environment from the offset. The ground floor comprises an open plan kitchen and breakout space for both the office and production teams. Equipped with a variety of comfortable seating, bold and bright décor and decorative feature lighting, the space provides the team with an inspiring and collaborative space, enhancing social interaction and employee wellbeing. High quality changing rooms including shower facilities and secure lockers are also located on this floor, providing a suitable space for the team to change before and after their shifts.
The majority of the second floor is dedicated to open plan office space to improve internal connectivity and promote creative thinking and innovation. Three private offices also provide a space for confidential discussions or brainstorming sessions, as well as two larger meeting spaces equipped with high-end tech delivering seamless connectivity to Swizzels’ other UK locations. Open collaboration booths are strategically placed in the central office space to offer an informal working environment, encouraging idea sharing among employees and fostering a culture of innovation.
Swizzels’ new facility at Ma6nitude was net zero carbon in construction, boasts the highest energy performance certificate and offers employees EV car charging, promoting its commitments to sustainability and employee wellbeing.
