SAFFERY LEEDS: HERITAGE-INSPIRED MODERN WORKSPACE
Project Overview
Client Background
Saffery is renowned for its business advisory and accountancy services. Its Leeds office was designed to reflect their long-standing heritage while embracing modernity to attract new talent. The primary objective was to align the office design with the firm’s identity as trusted advisers. Additionally, the design focused on creating a collaborative workspace that offered flexibility for staff.
Design Brief
The design concept for Saffery balanced heritage with modern office features. Key elements included:
- Reception/Welcome Space: A multifunctional area for meeting, greeting, and seating. It also allowed secure access to the two meeting rooms and a boardroom. Maximising natural light was a priority.
- Collaborative & Flexible Spaces: The design incorporated a large kitchen/social space that could serve as a hub for meetings, training, and events. In addition, private focus rooms and a staff wellbeing room were included to enhance teamwork while providing quiet areas.
- Heritage Integration: The use of high-end materials, such as wood and elegant fabrics, reflected Saffery’s rich heritage. Meeting rooms were named after the Yorkshire Three Peaks, tying the office design to its local roots.
Our Approach
ADT Workplace’s approach focused on designing a space that combined modern functionality with heritage-driven aesthetics. We developed an open-plan layout that allowed for seamless movement, while still incorporating private zones for focused work.
- Collaborative Workspace: The open layout promoted teamwork and improved communication across departments.
- Flexible Office Space: Private working booths and modular designs provided flexibility, allowing the office to adapt to various functions. This ensured both open and private working areas could coexist harmoniously.
