Allegro is the first of its kind in Birmingham—a premium build-to-rent development that blends modern city living with lifestyle-led amenities. Located at Exchange Square, it sits between Birmingham’s business district and retail quarter, just minutes from New Street Station and directly opposite the Curzon Street HS2 terminal.

Designed to elevate the rental experience, Allegro features communal spaces that allow residents to connect, work, and relax. As part of this innovative development, ADT Workplace was appointed to deliver the design and fit-out of two floors of high-spec office and amenity space within the building.

About the Project

Following a negotiated design and build process, ADT Workplace delivered a comprehensive Cat B fit-out across 12,000 sq ft, completed within 14 weeks.

The project included:

The creation of a new mezzanine floor complete with a feature staircase
Installation of new air conditioning and lighting systems
Construction of a corporate reception, staff restaurant, and multiple breakout areas
Development of open-plan office zones that support both individual and collaborative working
Integration of high-end materials to reflect the quality of the Allegro brand

The space was designed to cater not only to the operational needs of Allegro’s on-site team, but also to serve the wider resident community.

Design and Amenity Highlights

The workplace and communal zones were carefully considered to support wellbeing, flexibility and resident interaction. Key features include:

Resident Hub – A space to relax, connect or work, fostering a sense of community
High-Spec Wellness Centre – Fully equipped gym designed to promote physical and mental wellbeing
Garden Spaces – Landscaped areas for quiet reflection and social interaction
Concierge Lockers & Post Room – Integrated with the Allegro app to notify residents of deliveries
Cycle and Car Parking Access – Secure facilities for sustainable transport and convenience

These amenities were all integrated into the fit-out to reflect Allegro’s mission to create a next-level rental experience.
